Three waterspouts appeared in the sky over Outer Banks Fishing Pier in South Nags Head Monday morning, and a tornado warning went out from the National Weather Service at 11:15 a.m.

People enjoyed quite a show as the waterspouts first formed, then dissipated and then reformed again.

A waterspout was also reported by law enforcement west of Avon and moving east earlier in the day, according to the Nation Weather Service.

Waterspouts were reported to have moved ashore in Wanchese and north of the Bodie Island Lighthouse.

Thunderstorms are forecast to continue through the day, some possibly with high wind gusts and heavy rain, the Weather Service said.
