Currituck County teacher arrested on sex charges

A Currituck County teacher has been arrested after the school system reported the possibility of an inappropriate relationship with two students.

The Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that Christina Corbo of Starboard Court, a teacher at Currituck County High School, was arrested last week on five counts of sexual activity by a custodian.

Corbo was arrested Friday, the statement said, and released on $10,000 secured bond.

“Due to the nature of this case, no other information will be released,” the statement said.

Haven’t the courts had enough examples by now about how these low-bond deals turn sour? Innocent until proven guilty, yes, but there’s no rhyme or reason to the bail, which is supposed to ensure a court appearance and safeguard the public from the (potential) predators in society.
