Man medevaced from fishing boat after injury

The Coast Guard medevaced a 37-year-old man Monday morning from a 90-foot fishing vessel in Pamlico Sound west of Ocracoke.
The crew reported the man was experiencing what appeared to be a seizure and sustained a head injury.
A 25-foot boat from Station Ocracoke responded with a Hyde County EMT aboard. The man was transported to Ocracoke and then flown to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville for treatment. An update on his condition has not been released.
