Photography by Matt Lusk (DCAC photo)

Dare County Arts Council will debut two new exhibitions for the month of July. Photographers Matt Lusk and Daniel Pullen are featured in “Shooting the Surf” along with recent works by painter Ben Morris.

Their works will be on display at the DCAC Courthouse Gallery in Manteo until Aug. 1.

Matt Lusk spent countless hours chasing waves all over the East Coast and beyond, but his favorite place in the world to photograph surfing is here in the Outer Banks. His passion is shooting from the water, immersing himself in the waves with other surfers and getting as close as possible to the action.

Lusk’s work has been published in international magazines and websites.

Daniel Pullen grew up on Hatteras Island — a sliver of surfers’ paradise. At an early age, fueled by his love of the ocean and surfing, he began to pursue his passion for photography. His unique work won numerous awards and he’s been recognized by the world’s leading surf industry publications.

Ben Morris is a local surfer and an artist also living on the Outer Banks. Morris works in numerous mediums including acrylic on paper, acrylic on wood and oil. His versatile art is a true reflection of his passion and love of the ocean and riding waves.

Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 12pm – 4pm on Saturday. For more information call DCAC at 252-473-5558 or visit our website at www.darearts.org.
