Police searching for missing woman on Hatteras
The Dare County Sheriff’s Office has been contacted by authorities in Ohio regarding a missing person who was last seen July 4 in the Salvo area.
Police are searching for Lynn Jackenheimer, 33, of 1615 State Route 603, Ashland, Ohio, according to a news release.
Authorities said Jackenheimer was last heard from around midnight on July 4 and was believed to have been in the Salvo area at the time.

The news release says that according to Ohio authorities, incriminating statements have been made to people in Ohio that foul play may be involved.
Ohio authorities are also looking for Nathaniel Summerfield, 27, also of Ashland, Jackenheimer’s boyfriend, who is also missing.
According to several television stations in Cleveland, Summerfield returned to Ashland on Sunday with Jackenheimer’s two children, dropped them off with their grandparents and drove away.
Authorities say Summerfield was last seen driving a dark gray 2009 Honda Civic, with Ohio license plate FMV-7540.
Dare County Sheriff’s deputies in conjunction with the North Carolina Highway Patrol are searching Hatteras Island with land and air assets and dogs.
A 911 call in Ohio was placed Sunday by Summerfield’s brother, where he alleged the man now being sought had confessed to killing Jackenheimer.
