First Flight Odyssey teams headed to World Finals

First place, You Make The Call: back, Kenzie Potter, Hunter Crook, Luke Potter; front, Alex Rodman, Evan Fish, Casey Bouker. The team is coached by parents Traci Potter and Barrett Crook.

Second place, Weird Science: Kendall Weeks, Meghan Savona, Bryce Pugh, Parker Swart, Parker Banks and Sam Wills. Stephanie Wills is the coach, assisted by Karen Savona.

First Flight Middle School Division 2 teams — You Make the Call 4 QTπZ and Weird Science — have earned berths to compete with U.S. and international teams at the OM World Finals at Iowa State University in Ames.

The teams won first and second place at the Odyssey of the Mind state Tournament March 30.

The competition is set for May 23 to 26.

Other Dare County team placements in Division 1 were: Nags Head Elementary’s You Make the Call team, third; Kitty Hawk Elementary’s Ooh-Motional Vehicle, fourth; and KHES’ You Make the Call, sixth; and in Division 3, First Flight High School’s You Make the Call Team took fourth place overall.

Its to support the First Flight Middle school Odyssey of The Mind Team thats going to the World Competition at the University of Iowa. Two teams from our area have advanced from the state finals. Tickets are only $8. Let’s help support these kids. I have ten left. I will deliver if close by.
