Zackary Lamb is year’s first baby at OBH

Zackary Derek Lamb was the first baby born at The Outer Banks Hospital in 2012, weighing in at 6 pounds, 12 ounces.

Zackary waited until after the first of the year to enter the world, making his appearance at 10:09 p.m. Jan. 2.

Delivered by Dr. Timothy Kling, Zackary is the first baby for parents Angela Staley and Justin Lamb, who live in Kitty Hawk.

The New Year’s first baby is highly anticipated every year.

“Every new baby is special at The Outer Banks Hospital, but the first baby of the year is extra-special,” said Lisa McGaha, director of Labor & Delivery. “One year the New Year’s baby didn’t arrive until January 6th, so you never know what to expect.”
