A digital Town Square
Welcome to The Outer Banks Voice, a new Web site delivering local news and providing a forum for those who live, work, own property or simply have an interest in Dare County and the northern Currituck beaches.
Our goal is to complement local news coverage and provide original reporting you won’t see elsewhere. We’ll also provide links to stories from other Web sites, blogs, newspapers and magazines and be your one-stop source for local news.
In effect, we’ll be your search engine. We’ll find the news and deliver it to you here. Look for full coverage to begin Feb. 1.
The Voice will also be a forum for local opinion. We will actively seek columns from local decision-makers, interesting people and regular writers we’ll be lining up. Moderated discussion will also be a feature of the site.
We want readers to contribute. We would like to hear your ideas. We are ready to read your submissions and post those we think will be interesting to your neighbors.
To learn more about us, click “About” in the navigation bar. You can also reach us by clicking “Contact,” which will send us an e-mail.

Congratulations,Rob.
The Outer Banks Voice is a welcome addition to the news coverage of our area. And I look forward to your seasoned work as an experienced editor and reporter and observer of news and politics on the islands. I will be posting links to it on The Island Free Press.
A newspaper — or a news Web site — is a marketplace of opinion and ideas, and I look forward to yours.
Go for it!

I was excited to hear of this new addition to news and information and a fresh perspective on the Outer Banks. I have enjoyed reading Russ Lay’s interesting perspectives and look forward to even potentially contributing from the local housing front.
Express freely… wide open and outside the usual box! Best to you all…
Its A Good Life!
